While a lot of people were surprised by how good Iron Man was, I wasn't one of them. I had been familiar with the character for 30 years by the time the movie was announced, and I've always thought that the character was one of the better choices for a movie adaptation. Now for Iron Man 2 the expectations are higher, but I don't think the movie will be better than the original. I think it will be just about as good, maybe not quite as good - but that will still make for one fun, entertaining movie, and that's what the big summer movies are supposed to be. Here are the trailers... One big upgrade for Iron Man 2 is the casting of Don Cheadle as Jim "Rhodey" Rhodes. Terrence Howard's performance as Rhodes in Iron Man was way too soft (the opposite of the character in the comics), so Cheadle will be an improvement. Dorian Harewood voiced the character in the 1990's animated series, and he would be the perfect guy for the job - if he were 25 years younger (he's 60 now). Given that, Cheadle was a good casting move. I'm looking forward to IM2. Here are the TV spots...
