The Galactic Cowboys, that's who.
Coming out of Texas (Houston, I believe), they followed King's X in creating a new style that was heavy on melody and vocal harmonies while still packing one heck of a punch musically. Their riffs were heavy - often Anthrax heavy - but they married those thrashy riffs to beautiful vocal harmonies. Later they added Power Pop songs to the mix to further create their own thing.
It was a great combination, and a new style - a new sound.
Too new. Too different. The masses never heard it because MTV and FM Rock radio hardly ever played them. Even if they had it's entirely possible that the band (like King's X before them) would have had a hard time finding an audience for their unique brand of Metal/Pop/Punk/Alternative/Rock.
Still, they were a great band, and hopefully one day they'll put out another album. At least one.
