The devastation in Japan following the 8.9 earthquake and subsequent tsunami has been unreal - or all too real, unfortunately.
It's amazing to watch tons and tons of debris swept for miles inland. It's almost like watching a disaster movie, only you have to remind yourself that this is for real and people really got killed.
And many of us have heard about skyscrapers built to sway as a sort of, "Shock absorber," to avoid collapsing, but I've never actually seen it - until now.
Check this out...
Talk about well engineered buildings! And talk about a powerful earthquake. Here in California we have to deal with earthquakes, but nothing like that.
Rescuing the surivors, cleaning up, and rebuilding is going to be a massive undertaking in Japan. It's nice to see so many countries offering aid and assistance. My thoughts go out to everyone in Japan - and everyone with friends or relatives in Japan.
