The man who financed part of KISS' 1975 tour with his American Express card when record company money ran out has died at the age of 66. He had been battling cancer. His creative vision for promoting KISS helped the band realize their own musical and thatrical vision. He was a marketing genius. He also turned a former Punk vocalist, Billy Idol, from a has-been into a hugely successful star. The fact that Idol's career took a slow downward spiral after Idol fired Aucoin says a lot.
