Which one will you see in this weekend or the coming week? For me it has to be Pirate Radio because of the great music and a plot line that has to be a ton better than another disaster movie. Irwin Allen has been there and done that with disaster movies and despite the fact that the 2012 director did ID-4, I have no great desire to see NYC and Smell-A and the Capital Building destroyed once again. Been there, seen that.

For me 2012 is the kind of movie that needs to be seen on the big screen (bigger than I've got in my living room, anyway).
Pirate Radio, which may be a better movie, may work better at home in a more comfortable environment where you really can picture yourself listening to the Pirate Radio broadcasts.
So, as my wife loves John Cusack (I like him too), and as 2012 is a BIG movie that will work better in the theater, that's the one we're going to see.

I saw 2012 yesterday and, well, it's exactly what I expected.
A big, ridiculously over the top disaster movie. But it was well done and one hell of a roller coaster ride. It was fun, and it looked great on the big screen.
If you like disaster movies, this is not one to be missed.

He's done some damn good work (and also some crap, but all actors do crummy films from time to time). I think you may be correct about Pirate Radio. I won't see 2012 in a theater because I don't expect it to be worth the price of admission even though I agree that it would be better on a big screen. So I suspect we'll rent Pirate Radio when it comes out on DVD and decide if it's worth buying. I was going to see it in a theater, but I'm backing off on that. And considering how little it made in its opening weekend (#11 in sales), it may not be that long before it's out on DVD. =Bob
