We're not necessarily talking about the films that you think are the 10 Best films of all time, but your 10 favoritesI know that can be a tough one, but it's always fun to see what titles end up on the lists. Here is my Top 10 movies list (in no order)... Seven Samurai Warlock (1959) The Big Sleep The Petrified Forest Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Aliens Die Hard Goodfellas The Shootist Open Range Bubbling under (very close, could end up on the list on a different day)... El Cid The Shawshank Redemption The Towering Inferno Shane The Maltese Falcon To Have and Have Not I know I'm forgetting several titles that I'd want noted. Oh well...

Bob, as long as I've been reading your posts I would have never guessed that you were a big James Cameron fan. I love his work as well. OK, now those are more of what I would have expected on your list - and I really like a lot of them (sadly, I have yet to see The 39 Steps and Gettysburg - but I will get around to them eventually). I like your list a lot Bob. (Although I know virtually nothing about The First 20 Million...)

I like your list a lot Bob. (Although I know virtually nothing about The First 20 Million...)[/quote] You have got to see both, especially Gettysburg. Best Civil War movie I've ever seen. The prequel is Gods and Generals, but I don't consider it to be as good.
The First 20 Million is a rather unknown Adam Garcia movie. He leaves a sales weasel position to join a cutting edge computer firm, gets stuck on a stupid project that nobody wants and enlists 3 total geeks in order to develop "the 99 dollar computer". Jake Busey plays one of the geeks. Rosario Dawson is the love interest. Not for everyone, but it's a good computer geek movie.
And yeah, I'm a huge Cameron fan. No director comes close to him when it comes to SF.=Bob

I would add one more to this list - "Steal Big, Steal Little". Has Andy Garcia, Alan Arkin, Joe Pantaliano, Rachel Ticotin and some others.
Story of very young twins who were illegals and taken in by the wife of the owner of a huge ranch in Santa Barbara County (Andy Garcia plays both roles). When the adults split up, one twin goes with the mother, the other goes with the father. When the mother dies, the twin who went with the father tries to sell off the land for development to a scumbag played by Kevin McCarthy. Corrupt judge played by David Ogden Stires and corrupt sheriff played by Charles Rocket (who sadly killed himself a few years back).
To a certain extent it's political on the lefty side, but it's more a movie about twin brothers who have to come to terms with each other.

The story is they ran out of money. Dumb ending.

And quite frankly, the ending fit the story and the story was very, very good. =Bob

Virtually every review of this movie ever written agrees that it was a great movie, with a weak ending.

I thought the ending worked pretty well.
I'm not sure which version of the ending I like better, though (theatrical or extended version) - I haven't watched the DVD in a while.
